We feel lucky to be able to take 2 full weeks to travel to Norway and Amsterdam!
We took an early flight to Boston and had a 7 hour layover so we got to have a mini trip before we even started. We took a water taxi to the waterfront, had a late lunch and explored a little, then took the water taxi back to the airport to catch our flight.

Trip didn’t sleep at all on the overnight flight so when we arrived in Oslo, I wasn’t sure what condition we would all be in. Fortunately everyone rallied and we spent the day at the sculpture park, had a picnic, spent some time at a playground, and enjoyed our apartment in a great location.

The second day was a full day of museums: the Viking ship museum, Fram museum about polar expedition, Kon Tiki museum about a tiny boat that traveled the Pacific, the National Gallery where we saw Munch’s “the Scream” and the Nobel Peace Center. Everything was very interesting to both the adults and the kids. Taylor had read about a beach she wanted to check out so we packed their swimsuits and took a detour mid-museums to head to a public beach where the kids swam in the very cold water and climbed on the rocks overlooking the fjord. We finished the day and grabbed some dinner and beers and headed home after a long day.

Oslo was a perfect place to spend a couple of days in the city before we head to nature.
