A week in Ireland is just what we needed. Greg’s family (minus one very missed sister and her family) met us in Ireland. We stayed together in a huge house in Doolin with lots of space and lots of activities for the kids. They got to spend some great cousin time and we got to have some quality adult interaction.

We took a boat to Inis Mor in the Aran Islands to the hillfort at Dun Aengus, atop the highest cliffs on the island. They were beautiful and of course completely without any barriers keeping us safe. Thankfully my family is terrified of heights so we were all very careful. We saw seals, thatched roof houses and beautiful stones walls everywhere. It was a memorable trip on the frothy seas as evidenced by the following poem my niece wrote about the day:
Don’t Lay Down Your Bag!
Before I know it, I’m down below the deck. The seats are nice enough, until I hear a “Bleck!”
The people all around me are looking quite green. It’s the worst case of seasickness I’ve ever seen!
People are up-chucking in grocery bags, so much for the “Recycle this! It’s reusable!” tags.
Out one side all I see is water. The other only air. Then vice versa, the sun giving off a glare.
The crew member just doesn’t understand the demand for bags at sea. Instead he hands them out one by one, slow as you please.
After lots of up-chucking, the ride comes to an end. And everyone agrees, let’s not do that again!

Ireland is a lot of driving. The scenery is breathtaking.

Our house was only a few minutes from the Cliffs of Moher. It was too rainy most days to see them, but we got a beautiful day the day before we left and headed over to see this breathtaking wonder.

The week was fantastic. We are ready for Paris!
