We flew from Iceland to Milan for one day. We suffered through an excruciating 2 1/2 hour walking tour with a couple of very bored kids just to see The Last Supper. FYI, if you want to see it, get your reservations months in advance otherwise the only way to see it is to do an overpriced tour. But The Last Supper was impressive (to Greg and me). We made it up to the kids by heading to the Gelato Festival where we were able to buy a pass to have all 14 flavors available that day. We did some park time and they really enjoyed chasing the pigeons in front of the Milan Cathedral.
Next, we took the train to Florence. Our apartment was conviently located and beautiful, overlooking the Duomo and a 5 minute walk to the hands-on Leonardo daVinci museum which the kids liked and the museum where David is located, which we almost missed seeing entirely because we overslept and missed our ticket time. Thankfully they let us in anyway. One day, we walked to Ponte Vecchio, then the Boboli Gardens at the Palazzo Pitti, then had an amazing dinner out. Despite Taylor thinking we walked way too much here, we had a fantastic 4 days. The highlight though, was getting to see our good friends, the MacIntosh family who live here now. Taylor got to play with the girls and Greg and I got to speak to other adults besides each other. Oh, and the kids also loved the gelato. “They” definitely liked stopping for gelato every day, at least once.

Beautiful pictures!!! Looks like you guys are having fun exploring! We love gelato!
