We made it to our first stop – Iceland!  It’s absolutely gorgeous here, and our tiny cottage couldn’t be more perfect.  We spent the day exploring our surroundings.  Our place is at the base of a small mountain and the ground is spongy and mossy with a stream running through it.  We tried our best to stay up until night but we all crashed about 6:00.  Greg and I woke up a couple hours before sunset.  Yes SUNSET.  It “sets” at 11:45 pm and “rises” at 3:15 am.  But really it never gets dark.  The picture of the “sunset” below was taken at 1:30 in the morning.  The good news is we have long days to explore this amazing country!
